Yes, a head-on collision between two ice skaters could potentially result in serious injury or even death. The force of the impact, combined with the hard ice surface, could cause severe trauma to the head, neck, or other vital organs. Additionally, if the skaters are moving at high speeds, the risk of injury is even greater. It is important for ice skaters to always be aware of their surroundings and to skate in a safe and controlled manner to minimize the risk of collisions. **

The main difference between figure skating and ice hockey skates is the blade. Figure skating blades are longer and have a toe pick at the front, which is used for jumps and spins. Ice hockey skates have a shorter, more curved blade without a toe pick, designed for quick turns and acceleration. For casual ice skaters, I would recommend figure skating skates, as they provide better stability and control for beginners, and the toe pick can be helpful for balance and learning basic skills. **
